Next generation CRS represents only hospitality technology solution on revered list

InfoWorld magazine has named Pegasus Solutions’ next generation central reservation system (CRS), RezView® NG, as one of the top 100 IT projects of 2009. Pegasus’ CRS was the only hospitality technology solution to make the annual list, which recognizes 100 IT organizations that have “integrated technologies in innovative ways in pursuit of concrete business goals,” according to the magazine.

RezView NG has been lauded by the hospitality industry as the first major redesign of the CRS in more than 20 years. To-date, it has been upgraded to more than 8,000 hotels. Mike Kistner, chief executive officer of Pegasus Solutions, said this recognition from the broader IT community validates Pegasus’ pioneering dedication to creating a better solution for hotel reservations.

“In a year when many companies cut investment in IT, we forged ahead with RezView NG, a solution Pegasus has been invested in since 2007. We experienced the thrill of implementation, allowing hotels to realize functionality in central reservations never known to our industry,” said Kistner. “InfoWorld’s list calls out the top 100 real-world projects that ‘stand as proof that striking a new path in IT can reap deep organizational rewards.’ And while we’ve realized those organizational rewards, we are also rewarded in being the only hospitality technology provider recognized on this year’s list.”

Building on the tradition of Pegasus’ RezView CRS, which has for years maintained industry-leading uptime and sub-second response times, RezView NG is based on Oracle RAC, Solaris, Sun

One Application Server, Sun Message Broker, Java/J2EE, and Splunk. Developed using OpenTravel Alliance message structures, RezView NG supports rapid implementation and highly reliable interfaces with a wide variety of property systems. Its flexible design, allows hotels to manage room and non-room inventory, availability status, restrictions, pricing and policies per property preference.

“RezView NG represents the solid engineering, hard work and dedication of Pegasus’ team of development, architecture, system administration and system managers. This team’s commitment to design, build and run industry leading applications that could solve pressing fundamental problems for the hospitality industry makes them deserving of this recognition from the greater IT community,” added Kistner.
