Deep sea delights at Ocean Room
The newly re-designed Ocean Room brings a fresh dining concept to Sydney’s busy Overseas Passenger Terminal, Circular Quay.

Private Dining Room |
Re-opened in September after substantial renovations, the open plan restaurant’s new décor designed by Yasumichi Morita mixes traditional Japanese warmth with a touch of modern flair with most tables angled to overlook Sydney’s iconic Opera House.

Main Dining Room |
The new Spring menu, created by Head Chef Raita Noda features a variety of traditional Japanese flavours combined with a twist, perfectly for the modern diners' palate.
The entire menu, said to be inspired by creations from the sea, features only the best and freshest ingredients and changes seasonally. The head chefs say the concept is derived by the Japanese’s belief in a culinary fifth sense, ‘umami’.

Tuna Creations |
For those who love choice, this is the perfect restaurant as the chefs offer a long list of options per course, however for those who want to sample the chef’s signature dishes and prefer to leave it up to their recommendations, it’s best to choose from one of the two degustation menus presented, featuring either eight or eleven courses.
The eleven course tasting menu features two signature dishes, and is the perfect meal as none of the dishes are heavily laden with cream or sauces, so does not leave one uncomfortably full. The tasting menu can also be exclusively designed for a dining experience second to none, but must be ordered by the entire table.
Starting with freshly shucked Oysters, and ending with a sample of desserts, the meal’s highlights are the very unique Soft Shell Crab Taco, delicately combined with pickled vegetables in a crispy taco shell, Wasabi Prawn croquettes and Saikyo Miso Cod. The Tuna creation is also a unique offering, served in five different ways each with its own special condiments.
The newly revamped Ocean Room breathes a new beginning for the area, and offers diners a delectable new way of experiencing traditional Japanese cuisine.
