This year’s three-day World Religious Travel Expo will be themed "Make 2010 Your Best Year Ever", announced World Religious Travel Association (WRTA) earlier this week.

WRTA President Kevin Wright said the “Make 2010 Your Best Year Ever” theme would invite attendees at the event to “tap into the flourishing religious travel and hospitality industry.”

“We all know this is a very trying time for many companies” he said in a statement.

“However, as faith tourism provides new market and revenue possibilities, the World Religious Travel Expo provides organizations with a renewed opportunity to experience their best year yet."

According to WRTA, 75% of faith-based travellers prefer to travel in groups whilst 80% like repeating their religious travel experiences.

It is this faith-based travel trend which has made the religious travel market recession-proof and groups-dominated.

Registration is now open for the World Religious Travel Expo & Educational Conference 2009 to be held 14-16 November 2009 at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center in Reno, Nevada (USA).

Tourism organizations and travel professionals from over 30 countries are expected to attend the conference which will share convention space with the National Tour Association Annual Convention.
